Statewide campaigns & initiatives

At Utah State Capitol for Governor Hunstman’s signing of concurrent resolution
  • Gained support for libraries through promotion of statewide initiatives, including Love Your Library campaign
  • Directed operations of the Utah Center for the Book, a stated affiliate of the National Center for the Book at the Library of Congress, to lead campaigns and implement programs that promote libraries, authorship, reading, and books throughout the state of Utah
  • Assembly District 51 Elected CDP Delegate (2019-Current) CDP Senior Caucus Organizational Development Committee Chair leading development of proposals for changes to organizational structure and strategic plan of actions


National Legislative Week

  • Represented Utah libraries, in capacity as Coordinator for Utah Center for the Book, with fellow delegates, Utah State Librarian and Utah Library Association President; visited the Washington D.C. offices of Utah Senator Hatch and other elected representatives and engaged in discussions that highlighted Utah library issues and priorities


Local issues

  • Presented at Los Angeles Unified School District Board of Education meetings on various issues, interpretation and implementation of policies and procedures, and more for increased equitability and to improve outcomes for all
  • Organized communities on issues related to education, housing, homelessness, health services, and more
  • Presented at Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors meetings with focus on community impacts and creative alternatives to expand and make mental health services more accessible
